I was born and raised in Middletown and graduated from LCHS. I continued my education at Parkland College where I earned my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. My passion for the last 16 years had been emergency medicine, but had the pleasure of working part time for Greenhaven for the last 7 years. Dr. Bill and Dr. George are wonderful doctors to work for and the company and their goals are what drew me to pursue a full time position with them as Practice Manager of Best Friends. I actually started my career in veterinary medicine at this location when I was 16 years old and Dr. Pierce and Dr. Kvittle gave me my first job in their kennels. I am thrilled to hopefully have the pleasure of starting and ending my career in the same location. It’s crazy how life comes full circle. I love spending my free time with my husband of 17 years, Kevin, and our two wonderful children, Katie and J.R.
We have a small hobby farm outside Lincoln where we raise pigs, cows, chickens and horses. We, of course, have three dogs and four cats. We are active members of the First United Methodist Church, where we have the pleasure of leading Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Our children are active in 4-H, Girl Scouts and Aqualynx. I have loved the opportunity of reuniting old friends and meeting new ones at the clinic and welcome you to come check us out anytime.
Office Manager and Certified Veterinary Technician
I became a Certified Veterinary Technician when I graduated from Parkland College in 1991 and have been at another small animal practice from then until July, 2014. I then joined the Greenhaven team in August, 2014. I was born and raised in Delavan and now reside there with my husband, Steve, and four children. In my spare time, if I'm not at one of my kids' sporting events, you can either find me out caring for my own menagerie of critters or out in our extensive garden. I also enjoy freezing and canning, and making jelly. I'm also a leader for my kids' 4-H club and enjoy watching them show their projects at the fair.
Certified Veterinary Technician
I grew up in Decatur, Illinois and started working with animals as soon as I could convince someone to let me help. I started working in wildlife rehabilitation at 15 and started as a kennel girl when I was 16. I graduated from Parkland College as a Veterinary Technician in 2009. My interests in veterinary medicine include ANYTHING "CAT ", internal medicine and exotics. I love to embrace the role of "cat lady" in our team and have a special interest in behavior medicine and environmental enrichment in felines. I share my home with my longtime partner Bruce as well as four cats and one dog: Pretty Kitty, Thomas, Guido, Cheshire and Cheyanne. Cheyanne loves to travel with us and go on visits to the hospital where she is a registered therapy dog. In my spare time I enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing, gardening and cooking.
