This isn’t a job to us. Caring for your pet like our own is a calling. It is in ever fiber of our being. And we work to be the best we can be. After all, you deserve no less.

I was born here, in Logan County, and grew up on a grain and livestock farm. I attended college at the University of Illinois for my undergraduate degree in animal science and then again for veterinary school. I graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School with honors in 1988.
Upon graduation, I returned to the area and started working at Greenhaven Animal Clinic, where I had worked as an intern during the summers and school breaks. I have continued my education over the years with numerous seminars and conferences, also graduation from the Executive Veterinary Program at the University of Illinois. I strive to practice the highest quality veterinary medicine available.
I was lucky enough to meet my wife, Kay, shortly after graduation. We were married in May 1990, and we have been blessed with three wonderful boys: Michael, a recent PharmD graduate from St Louis College of Pharmacy; Logan who will graduate this fall from the University of Illinois in chemical engineering; and William, a junior at the University of Illinois.
In my “spare” time, I enjoy being outdoors hunting, fishing, or working landscaping. We also enjoy traveling and seeing different parts of the United States.
I have been a member of the Greenhaven Animal Clinic team since 2003. I am a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. My professional interests include equine dental care, lameness, and reproduction, and I have pursued continuing education in these areas. I enjoy the benefits and challenges of a mixed animal practice in a small town setting.
I am married to Dr. Karren and we have three boys. We share our home with home with one dog, Truman; two cats Jose, and Fiddles a three legged wonder; two horses, Martha and Gideon, and two ponies. My personal interests include American history, genealogy, and bow hunting.
I am a 2007 graduate from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine and have been in general practice since that time. I grew up in rural Emden, Illinois.
Before joining the Greenhaven team as an Associate Veterinarian in October of 2013, I began working at Greenhaven in high school as an assistant. From there I went on to college to study veterinary medicine. Before Greenhaven I have worked in a mixed practice in western Illinois and a small animal practice in southern Illinois. My professional interests include small animal internal medicine and large animal herd health.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Elizabeth, and have two young daughters. My pets include Chief, a black lab who thinks he is human and Suzy, a rambunctious yellow lab with no manners. With my little remaining free time I enjoy fishing, playing basketball, gardening and hunting. I am excited to return to Central Illinois and look forward to serving our clients.

I realized early on that I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In the fourth grade, we were asked the question, “Where will you be when you are 25?” I answered, “In veterinary school!”
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002, and joined the Greenhaven family in 2003. My interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and integrative medicine using conventional and nonconventional approaches to helping animals heal. I recently passed the testing for certification in veterinary acupuncture, and I enjoy using this modality to bring balance to our patients. I am also involved with Pets Without Parents and Operation S.A.F.E., rescue organizations that work to better the lives of animals in central Illinois.
I enjoy spending time with my family–my husband, Dr. George, and our three young boys. Our family also includes a menagerie of animals, our rambunctious dog Truman, three sweet kitties, four well fed horses, and a mix of ducks, and chickens. I also enjoy creating handmade jewelry, gardening, and reading whenever I have a little extra time.
I am from Huntingburg, Indiana. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and then earned my doctorate of Veterinary medicine from Kansas State University. I have spent the last three years practicing in a mixed animal practice in Greensburg, IN before moving to Lincoln.
My wife Katie and I were married in June 2015 and were blessed with our daughter Lucy in June 2016. In my free time I enjoy reading, hiking and chasing Lucy around the house.
I enjoy working in a mixed animal practice setting with particular interests in beef cattle production and reproduction work in all species.
Growing up on a small livestock farm, in Elmwood, Illinois, I always knew that I wanted to become a veterinarian. I decided to attend Monmouth College and graduated in 2013 with my Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. From there, I attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2018.
Greenhaven is the perfect fit for me because I enjoy working with both large and small animals. My professional interests include small animal internal medicine and surgery, equine lameness and reproduction, and large animal herd health. I’m very excited to stay in Central Illinois and begin my career with such a wonderful practice.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, going kayaking, hiking and to sporting events. I have two dogs Riley and Scout and hope to have a horse in the near future. I am happy to be a member of the Greenhaven team and I’m looking forward to meeting and serving our clients!

I was born and raised in Middletown and graduated from LCHS. I continued my education at Parkland College where I earned my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. My passion for the last 16 years had been emergency medicine, but had the pleasure of working part time for Greenhaven for the last 7 years. Dr. Bill and Dr. George are wonderful doctors to work for and the company and their goals are what drew me to pursue a full time position with them as Practice Manager of Best Friends. I actually started my career in veterinary medicine at this location when I was 16 years old and Dr. Pierce and Dr. Kvittle gave me my first job in their kennels. I am thrilled to hopefully have the pleasure of starting and ending my career in the same location. It’s crazy how life comes full circle. I love spending my free time with my husband of 17 years, Kevin, and our two wonderful children, Katie and J.R.
We have a small hobby farm outside Lincoln where we raise pigs, cows, chickens and horses. We, of course, have three dogs and four cats. We are active members of the First United Methodist Church, where we have the pleasure of leading Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Our children are active in 4-H, Girl Scouts and Aqualynx. I have loved the opportunity of reuniting old friends and meeting new ones at the clinic and welcome you to come check us out anytime.
I grew up in Easton, Illinois and graduated from Illini Central High School. In 2018 I graduated from Parkland college in Champaign, Illinois where I earned my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. I was an intern at Greenhaven Animal Clinic during my program and started working full time as a CVT in May, then transferred to Best Friends in August. In my free time I love to hang out at home with my two cats, Raisin and Felix, and my boyfriend Nick. I also love spending time outside, especially hiking, along with baking and antiquing.

I have worked for Best Friends Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant since 2012. I love animals of all kinds! I have one dog, a four year old Border Collie named Oliver. When I’m not chasing around my wild two year old son I enjoy shopping, painting and hanging out with my family and friends!
I am happy to be a part of the team at Best Friends Animal Hospital. I grew up on a farm in Logan County and exhibited sheep and pigs in 4-H. I have two spoiled chocolate labs, Cocoa and Bear. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and doing anything outdoors.
